Reduction in Federal WIC Funding Leads to Adjustments in Program Staff Hours

June 5, 2025

CareArc regrets to announce a reduction in staffing within its Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program due to recent federal funding cuts.

The WIC program, a vital nutrition assistance service for qualifying women, infants, and children, has experienced a decrease in federal funding for the current fiscal year. As a result, CareArc must make necessary adjustments to continue providing services efficiently while maintaining compliance with funding limitations.

Effective June 6, the WIC program will be closed on Fridays.  While the program remains committed to serving the community, this change may result in longer response times or limited appointment availability.

“We understand how important WIC services are to families in our community,” said Diana Moore, WIC Director.

“This reduction is not a reflection of the need or impact of the program, but rather a response to changes in federal funding beyond our control. We remain dedicated to supporting families through these adjustments and will continue to advocate for resources that meet the growing needs of our clients,” said Renee Hively, CEO.

Clients are encouraged to call ahead or check the CareArc website and social media channels for the most up-to-date information regarding appointment availability and adjusted service hours.  Our new WIC service hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
