The Lyon County WIC office has resumed normal operations and is once again fully open to serve local families.
Following several weeks of uncertainty due to the federal government shutdown, the State of Kansas has secured funding to keep WIC services running without interruption. With the anticipated end of the shutdown, the Lyon County WIC office is returning to business as usual.
“We are very grateful for the community’s patience and understanding during this time,” said Renee Hively, CareArc CEO. “Our team has continued working hard to make sure families could access their benefits and support. We’re happy to be back to full operations and ready to serve everyone locally again.”
WIC participants should now contact Lyon County WIC directly for all appointments, questions, and certifications. Please do not contact Johnson County Health Department for WIC assistance — Lyon County staff are again handling all services in-house.
WIC services continue to include nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and access to healthy foods for pregnant women, new mothers, infants, and young children.
