CareArc will host its annual Drive-Thru Flu Shot Clinic on Thursday, October 8, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the health center, 420 W. 15th Avenue in Emporia. Community members can pull under the west-side canopy and get their flu vaccine without ever leaving their vehicle. No appointment is needed, and the clinic is open to everyone ages six months and older.
The drive-thru format is built for speed and convenience, making it easy to fit a flu shot into a workday, a school run, or a lunch break. The standard-dose flu vaccine will be offered at this event. High-dose, nasal spray, and egg-free vaccines will not be available, and anyone with a severe egg allergy should talk with their primary care provider before getting vaccinated. COVID-19 vaccines will not be offered at this clinic.
The flu shot is free with most insurance plans. For those without insurance, the cost is $30, payable by cash or check at the time of service.
To help keep the line moving, participants are encouraged to wear short sleeves and bring a completed consent form for each person being vaccinated. Fillable forms are available at carearc.org/forms, and paper copies will be on hand at the event.
