Throughout the month of August 2026, CareArc will host Davee's Diaper Drive, a community donation campaign honoring the life and legacy of Davone "Davee" Dailey, CareArc's Maternal Home Visitor who founded the annual diaper drive to support local families.
For years, Davone championed the needs of parents and babies throughout the Emporia community. Through her work, she saw firsthand how something as simple as a package of diapers or baby wipes could ease the burden on families facing financial hardship. Her passion for serving others inspired the creation of CareArc's annual diaper drive, and this year, the event proudly carries her name.
Throughout August, CareArc will collect diapers of all sizes (especially larger sizes), baby wipes, and baby bottles at its main location, 420 W. 15th Avenue in Emporia. All donations will benefit Shiloh House and The Baby Closet, two local organizations that provide essential baby supplies and support to families across the region.
"Davee believed every child deserved to have their basic needs met, and she poured her heart into making that happen," said Felicia Davidson, Breastfeeding Peer Counselor at WIC. "Renaming this drive in her honor allows us to continue the work she cared so deeply about while inviting the community to be part of her lasting legacy. We can't think of a more meaningful way to remember her than by helping the families she dedicated her life to serving."
Diapers remain one of the most requested—and most expensive—items for young families. Unlike food assistance programs, diapers are rarely covered by public assistance, leaving many parents struggling to afford an adequate supply. Community donations help bridge that gap and ensure babies have access to clean diapers, wipes, and other essentials.
Community members, businesses, churches, civic organizations, and local groups are encouraged to participate by donating throughout the month. Every contribution, no matter the size, will directly support local families and continue the mission Davone started.
