CareArc Announces Pharmacy Partnership Transition: Ensuring Continued Access to Affordable Medications Through the 340B Program

December 11, 2023

CareArc, in its unwavering commitment to providing accessible and affordable healthcare, announces a transition in its pharmacy partnership to continue offering discounted medications through the 340B Program. With a heartfelt appreciation for the longstanding collaboration with Graves Drug Store, we are saddened by the news of Graves Drug Store's closure and express gratitude for their years of dedicated service to our community.

"We extend our sincere appreciation to Graves Drug Store for their years of dedicated service to our community,” said Renee Hively, CareArc CEO. “Their commitment to providing quality care aligns with our mission at CareArc. We are grateful for the positive impact they've had on the lives of our patients and the invaluable partnership we've shared.”

The 340B program is a federal initiative that allows eligible healthcare organizations, like CareArc, to access discounted prices on prescription medications. This program was seamlessly integrated into our partnership with Graves Drug Store, meaning that if you were a patient of CareArc, you were already benefiting from the 340B discounted prices without any extra steps.

It is your right as a patient to choose any pharmacy you want. Just because Walgreens has been entrusted with your records, does not mean you need to use them for your prescription needs. However, going forward, we kindly inform our valued patients that you will now need to visit Walgreens for their discounted medication through the 340b program. We appreciate your understanding during this change.

When visiting Walgreens, please ensure you specifically request the 340B Program price when filling your prescription. This is crucial for receiving the cost benefits that the 340B Program offers. However, it's essential to note that unlike our previous arrangement, Walgreens does not offer CareArc’s sliding fee discount on their dispensing fee for uninsured patients. Therefore, the dispensing fee will be higher, resulting in a slightly higher total cost for your prescription.

While we navigate this transition, CareArc is dedicated to ensuring that our patients continue to have access to the most affordable medications. We are actively working with our partner pharmacies to establish a sliding fee discount option for uninsured patients, a process that may take approximately 90-120 days.

Should you have any concerns about the costs of your prescriptions, we encourage you to reach out to your CareArc healthcare provider. Our team is here to assist you in finding the most cost-effective options and addressing any questions you may have about your healthcare journey. At CareArc, your well-being is paramount, and we remain committed to providing you with the highest standards of care, convenience, and cost-effectiveness.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us. We appreciate the trust you place in CareArc for your healthcare needs and look forward to continuing to serve you with excellence.
