CareArc is pleased to announce the newest addition to its healthcare team, Christina "Chrissy" Farr, DNP, CNM, IBCLC, joining as a Women's Health Practitioner.
Chrissy earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice, Certified Nurse Midwife from the University of Kansas School of Nursing in 2023. Her educational journey also includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Emporia State University in 2013. She furthered her expertise by becoming an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant in 2019.
Bringing over a decade of diverse healthcare experience, Chrissy Farr has played integral roles in various medical settings. Her journey began as a medical-surgical nurse at Newman Regional Health, where she honed her skills before transitioning to the Labor and Delivery unit. Chrissy spent a significant portion of her career at the Women’s Life Center at Newman Regional Health, dedicating ten years to delivering exceptional care to women during crucial life moments. In a quest for broader experiences, she also worked on the Labor and Delivery unit at the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City. During her academic pursuits, Chrissy immersed herself in clinical rotations, shadowing midwives in Topeka and Warrensburg, Missouri, to further enrich her expertise in women's health.
Originally from Norfolk, Nebraska, Chrissy has been an integral part of the Emporia community since 2001. She is passionate about women's health, providing comprehensive services such as pap smears, STI/STD testing, menopause management, and antepartum care. Additionally, Chrissy is well-versed in family planning, including prescribing birth control, IUD placement, and Nexplanon administration.
"I'm thrilled to be part of a smaller, more personal environment at CareArc. Working as a nurse in obstetrics, I loved being a part of the labor and delivery experience. It brings so much joy to be able to help mothers and their families through such an important time of their lives," said Chrissy.
